Oh, and no one here even knows my family. They are total strangers from one another. It seems like the perfect situation, but I'm warry of the others finding out.

If I dissassociate here, would my JW family who lives 3,000 miles away find out? I would not tell them. I have no family here. Would this congregation contact my old congregation 3,000 miles away with news of my dissassociation? What is the blabbermouth policy regarding the spreading of announcements from one congregation to another?

What Double Standards Exist With Jehovah's Witnesses?
by minimus into be a "good jehovah's witness" you must be able to live by double standards.
you have to know how to play both sides to the middle.
you have to speak and act one way with certain persons and another way with the others.. one example of how witnesses live by double standards:you cannot join the ymca because jws can't involve themselves with religious matters or else be shunned.

How about taking charity from the Catholics or Assemblies of God or others and forbidding giving to those same charities? Use them when you need them, then abuse them from the platform. Some kind of moral to teach the kiddies, huh?

Mysterious letter
by winnie inwhat's the 'mysterious letter' that follows you from one congregation to the next?
what's in it, who writes it, and can you have access to your own and read what has been written about you?.
growing up, we moved so many times that i can't even remember how many schools i went to, let alone where i completed each school year.

Do they really have the right to prevent you from seeing that letter legally? Don't they have to let you see it upon your request?

yes, competely and fully. That was why it was so heart breaking for me to see the leadership in the congregations act so badly and unloving. I grew to find that if he is real, he didn't want me there in the first place. On the other hand, if he is real, the people are a reflection of their god, and I could never again have anything to do with them. I didn't want to continue worshipping a god that produced bad things in people. So now, I am searching for the REAL God, if he is real. I figure eventually he will manifest himself if he is real, if not, he won't and I will get tired of waiting and figure the answer is he is not real. I'm on the fence between atheism and umm...god-ism.

I was asked this by so many people I had met outside of the JW's. I could only tell them about protecting the sound system from theives. That is the answer I was given. No windows helps perpetuate the fact they are a cult. I could not argue with them on the seeming secrecy from no windows on any of the halls.

Post the weirdest conversation that you had with a JW
by jambon1 inthere are quite a few but the one that got me wondering wtf i was part of was when an elder explained to a group of us that he wanted to actually see the worldly people being executed when the end comes.

All along the WT,
I disagree about how hard it is to figure out where Cain got his wife. Where else could he get her than from among his sisters? His mother was already taken by Adam and his brothers would never let a murderer of their brother Abel have one of his girl cousins for a wife. I stick with that logical answer. So, he took one of his peer relatives. Also, how hard would it be to be so incredibly close to perfection and give birth to a good sized population over a period of close to 1,000 years. When Cain ran away and took his SISTER with him, the other people (brothers, sisters, cousins) would be so numerous that eventually it would be possible to not know some of them. He went to another part of the earth alone with his wife. There was plenty of time for all of this and all of those people multiplied like bunnies over around 1,000 years. I worded this dogmatically on purpose to get some arguements. I want to learn something and get more views on it:)

Oh! Assemblies! At my grandparents' district assembly one old man sitting in front of them in the bleachers got up and started down the concrete steps. You know the kind that make you feel as if you are going to fall over unless you are very very careful? Anyway, he misstepped and fell headfirst forward, hitting his head so hard my gramma said it sounded like a coconut hitting concrete. He died almost instantly right in front of them!

Yes! Two things come to mind. At my gramma's hall a brother went into cardiac arrest and there was a paramedic brother who was there and helped him. The brother died, sadly. The other one was when 2 old pioneer hags went at it in the parking lot during a break in service. Trouble had been brewing for a very long time. They were yelling and jabbing their fingers at each other. It was very disturbing at the time, but I would laugh if I saw it now.
